DAIR, in collaboration with McMaster University, successfully launched an enlightening Virtual Speaker Series that brought together industry leaders and senior executives from the aerospace sector for a monthly rendezvous of knowledge and insights. Each speaker offered an hour of concentrated learning followed by a 30-minute interactive Q&A, fostering an environment of engagement and curiosity. 

The series commenced with Matthew Williams from GKN Aerospace, who delved into the intricacies of Business Unit Scaling Through Automation. His expertise illuminated the path for businesses that sought to leverage automation for growth and efficiency. 

Following suit, Craig Trewet, a seasoned executive from Boeing, shared his wisdom on Workforce Development Sustainment Strategies. His session served as a treasure trove of strategies for nurturing and retaining top talent in the competitive aerospace industry. 

The journey of learning continued with Shelly Peterson, an XR Industry Pioneer from Microsoft and Lockheed Martin, who provided a deep dive into Enabling High-Performance Research & Development & Project Risk Mitigation Strategies. Her session became a masterclass in pushing the boundaries of innovation while mitigating risks. 

Dave Hyem, another distinguished voice from Boeing, imparted his knowledge on LEAN Techniques to Drive Competitive Resilient Operations.  

Lastly, Tiago Dos Santos from Bombardier shared his expertise on Enhancing Quality Management Systems & Practices to Enhance Productivity & Competitiveness. 

The series concluded with a special section in which all previous speakers returned to answer questions and provide feedback on prevalent challenges attendees had faced.  

The series has not only been a platform for learning but also a hub for professional networking, offering participants the chance to connect with global leaders and peers.
